Greg Irwin is an American bilingual MC, singer, and voice actor from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. After studying music at the University of Wisconsin and theater at the University of Minnesota-where he appeared as a student performer at the Guthrie Theater-he moved to Hawaii and earned a B.A. in Japanese from the University of Hawaii. At age 26, he relocated to Japan, where he has since become one of the country’s most in-demand bilingual Master of Ceremonies and voice talents.
As an MC, Irwin has hosted major international events including the MLB and WBC Opening Ceremonies at Tokyo Dome, the Edinburgh Awards with His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Star Wars 30th Anniversary Japan Convention with Mark Hamill, and numerous high-profile charity galas and corporate events. He has performed at over 1,000 wedding receptions throughout Japan.
Irwin is widely recognized as the voice of NTT Docomo’s "You’ve Got Mail", and his voice work includes campaigns and narrations for ANA, Starlux Airlines, Tokyo Disneyland, McDonald’s, Panasonic, Softbank, Toyota, Coca-Cola, SONY, Nissan, NEC, and many others. His game credits include the announcer in Street Fighter, Bloody Roar, Shenmue, Katamari Damacy, Inazuma Eleven, and multiple titles for Sony, Nintendo, and Konami.
His film work includes appearing as an MC in the Netflix feature "10 Dance" (2025). As a narrator, he has contributed to educational and documentary projects for NHK, Gakken, Benesse, Kodansha, and international exhibitions.
Irwin has performed on numerous stages and concert halls including Lincoln Center (NYC), JZ Brat, Sogetsu Hall, Meguro Persimmon Hall, and has toured on cruise ships such as Asuka II, Nippon Maru, and Pacific Venus.
