Maria Sansone(II)
Maria is the the anchor/host of "Good Day LA" on FOX 11 Los Angeles.
She and Steve Edwards have been anchoring the show together since 2012.
Previously she was the host of "LXTV 1st Look" on NBC and an Entertainment Correspondent for TV Guide Newtwork's "Hollywood 411". You can also catch Maria live on the red carpet for all of the major award shows for TV Guide Network.
She was a host/reporter for LX New York on WNBC4, where she covered all things NYC, including Broadway, fashion, fitness and more. At LX New York, she initiated "Maria's Pet Project" and helped find homes for hundreds of homeless dogs.
Maria quickly gained "web celeb" status when hosting daily web show, "The 9" on Yahoo, and "PopTub" on YouTube. Maria was also an MTVU VJ. In addition to traveling across the country broadcasting from hundreds of college campuses, she hosted/wrote MTVU's weekly music show, "The Freshmen".
Maria has also contributed to Access Hollywood (1996), Extra (1994), CSTV, ESPN, CBS Sports. She has made appearances on a variety of shows discussing pop culture, such as Red Eye (2007), G4's "Attack of the Show", CBS' CBS Mornings (1954), Showbiz Tonight (2005), FUSE's The Weekly Riff (2008), The Megan Mullally Show (2006) and others.
She gained celebrity early in life when she became the youngest reporter in the history of network television, (12 yrs, 6 months) while doing sideline reporting for ABC Sports coverage of the Little League World Series. At age eleven, she hosted her own children's sport show, "Down to Size", on WJET-TV ABC in Erie, Pennsylvania. She went on to interview Jim Kelly of the Buffalo Bills; Michael Jordan; Bill Cowher, coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers; baseball legend Tommy Lasorda; and others, before her 13th birthday. She appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (1992) in December of 1992. The following year, Maria went on to national broadcasts of ABC's Little League World Series, Professional Bowling Tour, Wide World of Sports for Kids, and reported from the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, witnessing first-hand the Nancy Kerrigan-Tonya Harding saga. Later, she co-hosted, together with American Idol (2002)'s Ryan Seacrest, Gladiators 2000 (1994) and did spot-reporting for NBA Inside Stuff (1990).
Maria took a break from TV to be a 'normal' kid and went to high school, at Villa Maria Academy in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she played varsity basketball. While a junior at Syracuse, she co-hosted Live with Kelly and Mark (1988), while Kelly Ripa was on maternity leave. She graduated from Syracuse University's Newhouse School in 2003.
She lives in Los Angeles, CA.
