Biography

  • Tim is an experienced and versatile character actor, stunt performer, writer and director from New Zealand. After completing his Acting Degree at the School of Performing and Screen Arts, Unitec, he went on to appear in high profile productions like The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Yogi Bear, and 30 Days of Night. During this time he also stunt doubled for Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Orlando Bloom (Legolas), Andy Serkis (Gollum), Brad Dourif (Wormtongue), as well as for Geoffrey Rush, Burt Reynolds and others. Tim is also an accomplished filmmaker who has written and directed numerous projects including the iconic Kiwi short film, Frosty Man and the BMX Kid, that was highly praised by Sir Peter Jackson:

"This captured the Kiwi spirit and sense of humour very well. It was engaging and funny in the very best way. Imaginative use of camera angles and snappy editing. It worked at 3 minutes and could just as easily form the basis for something longer. Hopefully we'll see more of the BMX Kid!"

-Sir Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings)

"Tim's an old hand who's been around a long time. I think he's very good; a competent guy who know's his way around the set. Tim also casts well".

-Barrie M. Osborne (Producer of The Matrix and The Lord of the Rings)
