Biography

Hank Ebert has most recently appeared in The Gentlemen's Guide to Courtship in the Modern Era co- written and co-directed by Chloe Shelton and Carter Schaeffer. Hank was born and raised in Winchester, VA and caught the acting bug from his mother, Carol Croy Ebert. Carol started her career as a background actress in the 1945 film Incendiary Blonde starring Betty Hutton. She later appeared in numerous little theatre productions around the Winchester area. Hank Ebert's grandfather, author and occasional screenwriter Homer Croy, was known for the films Family Honeymoon (1948), West of the Water Tower (1923), They Had to See Paris (1929), The Harvester (1936) and I'm from Missouri (1939) and others. Croy was married to writer Mae Savell Croy. Hank's breakout role was the title role (Androcles) in Androcles and the Lion performed at the storied Wayside Theatre in Middletown, VA. Hank was Director of Photography and Editor for four short films produced and written by writer Dwayne Yancey.
