Stockton Rush was born on March 31, 1962 in San Francisco, California, USA. He was married to Wendy Rush. He died on June 18, 2023 in North Atlantic Ocean.

You know, at some point, safety just is pure waste. I mean, if you just want to be safe, don't get out of bed. Don't get in your car. Don't do anything. At some point, you're going to take some risk, and it really is a risk/reward question. I think I can do this just as safely by breaking the rules.

There hasn't been an injury in the commercial sub industry in over 35 years. It's obscenely safe, because they have all these regulations. But it also hasn't innovated or grown-because they have all these regulations.

I've broken some rules to make [Titan]. I think I've broken them with logic and good engineering behind me. The carbon fiber and titanium, there's a rule you don't do that. Well, I did.

I had this epiphany that this was not at all what I wanted to do. I didn't want to go up into space as a tourist. I wanted to be Captain Kirk on the Enterprise. I wanted to explore.

Sometimes Mother Nature works for you, and sometimes Mother Nature is a bitch.
