Biography

Mike Jackson is an Emmy-nominated editor and award-winning director and screenwriter.

He has cut shows and features for clients including Disney, Legendary Pictures, CBS, and The History Channel. His editing on the CBS / History Channel documentary "Beyond Top Secret" was nominated for a News and Documentary Emmy, he cut the award-winning dramatic feature "Golden Delicious", and edited the Emmy-nominated documentary "Bribe, Inc.".

Most recently, he wrote and directed the award-winning sci-fi comedy feature "Time Helmet".

Born in Ottawa and raised in Vancouver, Mike's original career was as a sci-fi illustrator, with his work appearing in numerous books and magazines, most notably for the Cyberpunk, Battletech, and Shadowrun games. This led to his first work in the industry as a storyboard artist for MTV’s "Aeon Flux", and a production designer on "Reboot".

At the same time, Mike also worked in video games as an artist and game designer, most notably designing the cult favorite PC game "Gunmetal" in the late 90s. In the early 2000s, Mike redirected his focus entirely to film, directing numerous award-winning shorts and music videos. He became an editor and VFX artist by trade, and never looked back.
