Georg Glass was born in Vienna, as the second son of Max Glass, a well known film company owner, author and producer, and of Dr. Helene Münz.

His father went after the First World War to Berlin, where he established two film companies, where also his two sons, Paul (* 1910), and later Georg started to work. In 1938 they moved to France, because of Hitler's Racial Law, being of Jewish origin. During the Second World War, they fled to Brazil and the United States, but returned and settled in 1948 again in France.

Georg Glass worked mainly in German, French, Romanian co-productions. Some films produced by him: "La Fille de Hambourg", director Yves Allegret, in 1958, The "Lederstrumpf"-series, director Pierr Gaspard-Huit, 1968.

Born Georg Glass, becoming a French citizen and working in international productions, his First Name appears sometimes as Georg, George and / or Georges, not to be confounded with the famous American film Producer George Glass.
