Biography

J. Blake Fichera is a film and television professional who has worked in many different facets of the industry. However, he is most widely known as the author of the critically acclaimed books, Scored to Death: Conversations with Some of Horror's Greatest Composers, and Scored to Death 2: More Conversations with Some of Horror's Greatest Composers, which feature in-depth interviews with many of the horror genre's most respected music-makers.

Is the grandson of dancer/comedian Al Fisher, from the Philadelphia comedy team "Fisher and Marks" who provided comic relief in several lesser known Paramount releases in the late 1950s.

Graduate of the State University of New York at Purchase (SUNY Purchase). Other alumni from Purchase include directors Hal Hartley and Nick Gomez, producer/director Bob Gosse, producer Todd Baker, as well as actors Wesley Snipes, Sherry Stringfield, Stanley Tucci, Parker Posey, Adam Trese, Laurence Mason, Dwight Ewell, Melissa Leo, and Seth Gilliam.

Is a musician and was inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame in 2015.
