Mini bio

  • Jonathan Dillon is a film director, writer and editor living in Los Angeles, California. His filmmaking career started when he was accepted into the prestigious school of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California to study film production. While attending, he was recognized by the popular HBO competition Project Greenlight as one of the top ten college filmmakers in the country through the "Refreshing Filmmaker Award" sponsored with AMC Theaters. He studied under screenwriter Mardik Martin, and worked on set with several notable directors including Jake Kasdan and JJ Abrams.

Dillon's debut feature film FIGHT NIGHT is an action/adventure film that released in April of 2009 with a wide DVD and home video distribution campaign through Phase 4 Films. FIGHT NIGHT was accepted into over a dozen film festivals worldwide, winning four best picture awards, best actress, best cinematography and best screenplay honors.

From 2010 through 2015, Jonathan was hired to direct a multitude of projects, all of which played at festivals worldwide and received various awards. One of those projects, Walter, was then packaged by ICM into a feature film starring Andrew J. West, William H. Macy and Neve Campbell. Most recently, Dillon's short Celluloid Dreams has played in over 14 film festivals, winning multiple awards and qualifying for the 2015 Academy Awards.

Dillon has proven himself as not only a talented filmmaker but a successful film editor, working with studios such as Fox, Warner Bros. and Lionsgate. Through a multitude of different projects he has worked along side producers Bryan Singer, Steve Golin and Sam Esmail. He is currently in development on his next directorial project, Black Friday, while simultaneously finishing his feature sci-fi script Artificial which was an Austin Film Festival double semi-finalist and Final Draft Big Break Competition top 10 nominee.
