Biography

Elias Hernandez is an award winning actor, director, and script writer. He graduated from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with honors and was on the dean's list throughout his time at the university. His degree is in Mass Communication: Advertising and Public Relations.

Elias directed, wrote and stars in the award winning film "Forsaken Heart" which won him "Best Acting Performance" in the 2024 Austin Micro Film Festival. While he is mostly known for his acting, Elias has directed multiple projects including the audio series "Am I Alive?" In addition to directing he also plays the lead character and he wrote and edits that audio series as well. Another one of Elias' notable projects that he's directing is the ambitious werewolf film "Varulv" this project is so ground breaking that concept footage from the film was mistaken as a dogman sighting and has gone viral.

From an early age, Elias was obsessed with horror films, while he loved the gory horror flicks of the 80s he also enjoyed classic universal monster films such as The Wolf Man (1941) he also liked watching comedy films and stand-up. His two heroes growing up were Lon Chaney Jr and Jim Carrey.

As a teenager, he joined a theater class for three years where he first began to write scripts and perform them with his friends on stage. He usually enjoyed doing satire comedy skits and science fiction plays.

In university, he took courses that caught his interest such as script writing, film editing, graphic design, and broadcast journalism. During his time in college, he volunteered to act in short films.

After he graduated he adapted one of his scripts to a scripted audio drama called "Am I Alive?" which is on Spotify and Youtube, he wrote, directed, edited, and stars in the audio series.

As an actor Elias has shown remarkable talent, he has won "Best Acting Performance" in the 2024 "Austin Micro Film Festival" Concept footage from his werewolf film "Varulv" went viral as a dogman sighting, the footage was of course just Elias in the suit. The film "Varulv" is still in production, the original viral clips are on his YouTube "EliasWolf77" and were posted there on 2018 and will be used for the final film as a short.

Elias Hernandez has continued to bring a unique and creative spin to the independent film scene.
