Allysa Lisbon (they/she) is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles and originally from Kansas City, Missouri. She holds an MFA in cinematography from American Film Institute.

Led by an early love for photography, Allysa developed her eye shooting documentary photos and films in Washington, DC. centering grassroots political organizations and campaigns. Inspired by the radical energy of these groups but drawn to narrative storytelling, she focused her energy on cinematography and worked as a camera assistant and DP before relocating to Los Angeles in 2022, to begin studying at AFI.

Allysa is most at home behind the camera and excited by the challenge of using impactful visuals to breathe life into nuanced, diverse stories. They are passionate about giving visual language to complex emotions and they find joy in marrying the technical and artistic skills of cinematography.

Her work has been featured at various film festivals including Hollyshorts Film Fest, AFI Fest, Imagine This Women’s Film Fest, won awards from the Telly Awards and Webby Awards, and has been featured in The Washington Post and the Smithsonian Institution Museum.
