Biography

Colmon Elridge

Biography

  • Colmon Elridge was born in Los Angeles, California.

After the loss of his father, Colmon Elridge, Jr., to suicide, his family moved to San Antonio, TX, and then to Cynthiana, Kentucky.

Colmon has been a storyteller, finding joy on the stage at a young age. He grew that experience to singing in choirs and talent shows, joining a dance theater troupe, and eventually landing in several stage and opera productions in college.

Colmon's first acting role came in high school when he was cast as "Tommy", a hard-lined unhoused youth in the movie "The Detail". He won the role after the director saw him get tossed out of a soccer game and asked him if he thought he could do that on screen.

Colmon's next break came in a small walk-on role in the movie "Seabiscuit", credited as John.

Colmon's third film, "Into the Fire", was written by a close friend, and is close to his heart, as it tells the story of loss, devastation, redemption, and hope.

Trivia

  • Colmon often credits his mother with his having become a storyteller. After allowing him to participate in speech and debate in middle school, Colmon was "hooked" and it has been a part of his journey every since.
  • Colmon is known for being able to memorize his lines by only hearing them a few times.

Quotes

  • I never really consider myself an actor. I am never really pretending to be someone else, but finding the character's journey within my own journey. It's why I never find it difficult to show a particular emotion when I hear "action". In my mind, I am already there because I've connected my character to a place in my life journey that is a guide.
  • I think the moment my kids found out I had been in movies and on tv they went from marginally embarassed to sufficiently mortified. That was the moment I felt I was a real parent.
