He has co-written over 20 Top 40 hits in Canada. As a singer, he had a Top 40 hit with his song, "Do You Mind If We Talk About Bill." In Quebec, his song, "Cyndi Lauper Said No" reached #1 on their Rock/Pop chart. James also had 2 Top 20 Christmas hits - "Missing You At Christmas (That's All)" and "I Just Can't Wait Till Christmas Time."

Co-wrote the Canadian Christmas hit, "My Christmas Song For You," with legendary pop singer, Melissa Manchester also performed by Melissa.

James was given his first actor role on hit sketch comedy show, "The Kids In The Hall." After having a few non-speaking scenes in various sketches, a couple of "The Kids" reached out and asked him if he'd like to play a prison guard speaking role in "The Big House" skit.

Released a cover of the # 1 worldwide hit, "Angie Baby," (originally recorded by Helen Reddy) with performing partner and actor, Jeff Wahl - they're known as Wahl Collins.
