Son of Pixar director Brad Bird. He was 8 years old when he did the voice for the sea turtle Squirt in Finding Nemo (2003).

Nicholas is the son of director/writer Brad Bird and Elizabeth Canney, and is the brother of Michael Bird.

Currently attends The Branson School in Ross, California.
