- Daniel Varbanov is an actor born in Sofia, Bulgaria. He is most known for playing Prince Bayan in the Bulgarian National television series War of Letters (2023). Daniel moved to the UK when he was fifteen in order to pursue a career as an actor. Shortly after his breakout role in War of Letters, he made a couple of memorable appearances, including his role in the record breaking film Gundi: Legend of Love (2024) which quickly established him as one of Bulgaria's most promising young actors.
Daniel is the eldest of three sons of former Minister of Agriculture, Ventsislav Varbanov and former model, Kamelia Varbanova. Daniel has often shared in interviews, that he has taken after his dad's artistic talent, but his mother was the person who educated and encouraged his passion for film and theatre.
His actor training has been an international journey, starting at Oxford School of Drama, continuing at the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia, and culminating in an MA in acting from Mountview in London. His native fluency in English, Italian, and Bulgarian, developed from a multilingual upbringing, frequently sees him cast in bilingual roles.
