Biography

Billy Mello is an award-winning spatial audio expert and immersive Sound Designer and Music Producer with over 30 years of experience in the audio industry. From his beginnings as one of Brazil's most prominent DJs and music producers to his current role pioneering innovative audio technologies, Mello has consistently pushed the boundaries of what's possible in sound design.

After spending 15 years as the resident DJ for "Caldeirão do Huck" on Brazil's Rede Globo television network, Mello transitioned to spatial audio and immersive sound design, by graduating in Audio for Video Games at Berklee College of Music. His work was instrumental for an Emmy nomination for the VR documentary "You Destroy. We Create," and he gained recognition for designing a sophisticated 5th Order Ambisonics system for Factory Berlin's Interactive Room.

Today, Mello serves as a Creative Leader and Immersive Audio freelancer and as CEO & Co-founder of LAIFE, where he develops AI-driven music for mental health applications. His innovative Emotitone Concept methodology combines emotional mapping with music theory to create powerful, resonant soundscapes for therapeutic and immersive experiences.

A professional musician and audio technologist, Mello continues to consult and work on VR/AR projects while advancing his work in AI-powered audio and biofeedback-driven adaptive sound systems. His multilingual capabilities (Portuguese, English, Spanish, and German) allow him to collaborate with clients and partners worldwide, creating extraordinary audio experiences that elevate human connection through sound.
