  • With wife, Jan, he is the co-creator of the popular Beranstain Bears series of children's books.
  • The first Berenstain Bears book, "The Great Honey Hunt," was published in 1962. The couple was discovered by and edited by children's author Dr. Seuss, who started Random House's Beginner Books series.
