Abhishek Goswami is an award-winning Indian film Director and Screenwriter known for crafting emotionally intense, psychologically layered and visually poetic cinema. known for his work across all kind of cinema projects; short films, documentaries, television commercials, music videos etc. He is recognized as one of the youngest emerging Directors, having propelled his career in a short span of time. Abhishek Goswami pursued his studies in filmmaking, at the Asian Academy of Film & Television (AAFT), during which he worked as an assistant director and as a DOP as well, on various prestigious projects; laying the foundation for his future endeavors.
His recent film, "Avyakt"-a social-crime-family drama-streaming on Airtel Xstream; marked him as a fearless new voice in independent cinema. With his debut film as a director & writer, "Are You His Mom"-streaming on Airtel Xstream; Abhishek Goswami delved deeper into themes of silence, displacement, and the human psychological condition. Thus, even from his first directorial venture he is establishing his signature storytelling style: minimal dialogue, evocative imagery, and layered emotional truths; like a mature film Director.
As a writer-director, Goswami is uncompromising in vision. He often develops his scripts from personal reflections, journal fragments, and philosophical insights, allowing his characters to emerge not just from plot-but from presence. His scripts are known for their inner rhythm, emotional restraint, and cinematic vulnerability.
A multidisciplinary creator, Abhishek Goswami is also a classically trained painter as he studied in the prestigious College of Arts; and he is a thematic/concept photographer too. With a history of being into professional combat sports; his body becomes a living archive of experiences, marked by scars & tattoos that signify survival, transformation, and the burden of creative truth-a storm tattoo on his arm and a crown of thorns at his neck.
Abhishek Goswami's support for emerging creators and new skills is beautifully reflected in his association with Skillzip - a platform dedicated to art, culture, and skill development. His approach is not merely instructional, but inspirational, offering others a window into the sacred craft of visual storytelling.
Goswami's cinema is not just about stories; it's about souls in motion. He directs not merely with a lens, but with the lived emotions- often editing, shooting, and crafting each element himself. His work has been recognized for its psychological nuance, deeply human themes, and visual compositions that blur the line between a film and fine art.
Whether behind a camera or before a blank canvas, Abhishek Goswami channels the storm within into visual poetry-making him a rare and unforgettable presence in contemporary Indian cinema. Abhishek Goswami's storytelling reflects a rare synthesis of psychological depth, visual stillness, and poetic realism. His films are not merely told-they are felt, whispered through atmosphere, silence, and the gaze of characters who carry entire worlds behind their eyes.
