Biography

Aykush Tonyan is an Armenian-Ukrainian actress based in Los Angeles, California. Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, she moved to Russia at age five and spent her childhood in the countryside before later relocating to the city of Armavir. She discovered her passion for acting at the age of seven and went on to study acting and directing at the Stavropol College of Arts, where she was trained in the Stanislavski method with a focus on theater.

In 2019, Aykush moved to the United States to pursue her lifelong dream of acting in film and television. With no formal training in screen acting and no industry contacts, she took a fully independent approach-self-filming her first acting reel, applying to projects through platforms like Backstage and Actors Access, and building experience through student and indie films. Her first on-camera experience in the U.S. was a volunteer role in a music video filmed in San Diego. Since then, she has appeared in a range of short films and music videos, delivering compelling performances across diverse genres. Among her most notable roles is Freya in Blurred directed by Lowie Sobry, which won Best Indie Short Film at the Europe Film Festival UK in July 2022. She also starred as June in the short film Summer of Love directed by Madalyn Higdon, and took on a powerful, emotionally driven lead role in the music video Fading, directed by Zian Fairnot.

In addition to her acting work, Aykush has worked as a babysitter, entertainment center assistant, and restaurant server to support herself while building her career. She is known for her grounded presence, emotional depth, and dedication to truthful storytelling.
