Biography

Vinaya Elijala is an actor and deviser based in Sydney with a creative background in Screen Acting and Theatre. Performing arts was always a passion sparked at a young age by indulging in Hindi films which also involved Bollywood dancing and acting in stage shows. Born in New Zealand and brought up in Australia, she comes from a South Indian heritage and is fluent in the languages Telugu and Hindi. Pursuing her childhood dream of acting professionally has been a huge part of her life and she is continually striving to be a part of diverse stories to inspire others to follow their aspirations.

Her most recent pieces of work include the devised play Prem Patr (NIDA Festival of Emerging Artists 2022), short film Icarus (Femeraki Film Festival 2023), the play One Who Wants To Cross (Sydney Fringe Festival 2023) and another devised production Aurat Raj (Belvoir 25A Program 2024).
