Biography

Michael Heseltine was born on March 21, 1933 in Swansea, Wales, UK. He has been married to Anne Williams since 1962. They have three children.

The truth is the Labour Party have lost all the intellectual arguments of the '80s: council house sales, nuclear, privatization, tax levels, you name it, the Labour Party fought all the battles in my early political life and they lost the lot, so they now have to conform to a world global pattern of how governments can behave and there's no going back.

What I would regard as One Nation Conservatism - that the poor and the elderly and the frail, they must be regarded as protected to the utmost of our ability - and that to me is one of the great historic strengths of the Conservative Party. Churchill (Winston Churchill) put it brilliantly: a net below which none may fall but above which all are free to rise.

What we've now seen for 80 years is peace in Europe and the creation of a single market, which was Margaret Thatcher's single greatest achievement. That has been fractured by the dialogue about Brexit and the racial undertones that lie with it, and all of this is festered with the immigrant problems that we're talking about.
