- While he had originally planned on majoring in film, after only one initial film class his freshman year Cade switched gears dramatically. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Sam Houston State University with a minor in Philosophy four years later. By the time he had graduated he had also written and directed his first feature film, the apocalyptic/zombie/gangster opus "Smoke Some Kill".
- Raised in the small town of Temple, Texas.
- Cade is a giant fan of the Ipecac label and has said in interviews that he listens to various Mike Patton recordings constantly during the screenwriting process. Having General Patton contribute an original score to one of Cade's films is a longtime dream of the filmmaker.
- He is an avid cigar lover. The Liga Privada line by Jonathan Drew's "Drew Estate" is is his favorite brand.
- Cade's cinematic hero is John Carpenter. While in the 6th grade, Cade directed a 10 minute homage to Carpenter's "Halloween". In the 8th grade he directed a 30 minute follow-up tribute to "Halloween" as well.
