Biography

After graduating from the University of Western Ontario, Sean Buckley started his career as an advertising manager with Maclean Hunter. While working in advertising, the Oakville, Ontario native quickly realized that his passion was for creating content. He went on to start Buck Productions, a production company successful in feature films, television, branded content, documentaries and commercials. As owner and CEO of one of the most diverse production houses in North America for more than 20 years, Buckley has cultivated a concept-first culture where ideas and end products are paramount. Buckley and his team at Buck Productions have been recognized as recipients of multiple Gemini, Genie, Canadian Screen Award, Director's Guild of Canada nominations and a number of other film, television and commercial awards as well as numerous film premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival and many other acclaimed international festivals. Recently, Buckley also joined The Coup Company as a partner and collaborates with them on all projects including Wolfcop and it sequel Another Wolfcop, and CBC Comedy Coup's inaugural production - HumanTown - which made its primetime debut in 2016.

Buck Productions has been the recipient of multiple Gemini, Genie, CSA, and a number of other international film festival, television and commercial awards over the past decades. He was also named ShowCanada's Canadian Production Spotlight Honouree in 2017.

Since operations began, Buckley and his team have worked on over 90 projects across scripted, unscripted and branded television and film. Recent additions to the Buck slate include the feature film Astorn starring Richard Dreyfuss that is currently in its festival run, Under Pressure: 9K an innovative series on Discovery's new digital platform MotorTrend, hit horror comedies Wolfcop and Another Wolfcop, thriller film Making Monsters with award-winning creators Justin Harding, Rob Brunner and Dale Andrews, Merchants of the Wild on APTN, four hit series with Reelz, and feature film Milton's Secret based on the book by renowned spiritual author Eckhart Tolle and starring Donald Sutherland and Michelle Rodriguez.
