Harsyajit Kr Goyary (b. 1994) is an emerging filmmaker hailing from a quaint village in Assam, northeast India. A graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India, he specialized in Sound Recording and Sound Design. As a dedicated representative of his tribal community, he champions regionally-based independent filmmaking. Goyary passionately believes in the transformative power of art and culture to instigate social change and raise awareness about the rich diversity of indigenous people in the northeastern region, using cinema as his medium.
His documentary "Gosain: The Colours of Spring," where he served as a mixing engineer, had its world premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022 and was showcased at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival Kerala (IDSFF). Notably, he contributed as a location sound recordist in the acclaimed film "Tora's Husband," directed by Rima Das, which received official selections at prestigious festivals including TIFF, BIFF, Osaka Asian Film Festival, and Bangkok World Film Festival. Goyary's commitment to storytelling and cultural preservation shines through his impactful cinematic endeavors.
