Melisa Akat is a Turkish Actress based in Los Angeles and Istanbul. She was born in Istanbul, Türkiye and speaks fluent English and Turkish. She is best known for her performances in films such as Charlies, For The Love of Three Birds, Missing in Pink, Phantom Memories, Handle with Care, and The First Friday.
Akat's interest in acting started in early ages during her childhood taking roles in school plays and she started taking Acting training at Kocaeli District Theatre with Burhan Akcin. In addition, she attended Nil Art Academy and trained with Ufuk Gonullu for Screen Acting. Later, she continued her education at University of Southern California (USC) for a Bachelor's Degree. Meanwhile, she attended Michelle Danner Acting Studio in Los Angeles. Upon graduating from university, she trained with Ayla and Sevi Algan at Istanbul Drama Academy focusing on Film, TV and Commercial Acting. Then, she attended University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) for Acting program, where she was honored with the Laurel Hummel Scholarship and studied the Meisner Technique with Jeffrey Stubblefield. She has been living in Los Angeles since 2018 pursuing her acting career and education.
In addition to her acting career, Melisa has a background in directing, writing and producing. She is also an emerging singer-songwriter who writes and performs her own craft.
