Sandra B. Rodriguez is a Mexican-American production designer with a background in architecture and a passion for visual storytelling. Raised in a small pueblo in Jalisco, Mexico, her early connection to film grew from family gatherings around the television, an experience that continues to shape her interest in creating emotionally resonant environments. She holds a B.F.A. in Architecture and an M.F.A. in Production Design from the American Film Institute. Her training in drafting, illustration, and model making informs a design approach that merges technical rigor with narrative-driven world building. Her work spans Production Design, Set Design, and Art Direction across independent and studio-driven projects. Sandra has served as Production Designer on projects developed through creative initiatives and programs including Sundance Labs, the McDonald’s Spotlight Dorado, Walmart x Mitú, Netflix’s Latino Film Institute, the Rideback RISE Program, and Film Independent. She has also contributed to the Art Department on productions such as Mrs. Davis (Warner Bros. / Peacock), The Terminal List: Dark Wolf (MGM / Amazon), Grotesquerie (20th Television / FX), and Platonic (Sony / Apple TV+). She is an alumna of the ADG 800 Production Design Initiative (PDI), the UCLA Design Showcase West, and Telluride Film Labs. Her work is driven by a continued exploration of design, character, and story through built space.
