Biography

  • Christopher Browne attended the Production program at the USC School of Cinema-Television where he directed the short film "Strange Fruit" and the Slamdance selection, "When Darkness Falls..." After graduation he began working with director Robert Zemeckis and the ImageMovers team as an editorial assistant and post production coordinator. Three years later, Browne and Zemeckis began developing The Walk (2015) based on Philippe Petit's memoir, "To Reach the Clouds."

Between 2006 and 2009, Browne co-hosted the popular cult podcast, "Scene Unseen Movie Reviews," with Jimmy Skodras (179 episodes including special interviews with filmmakers such as David Lynch, Darren Aronofsky, and David Fincher). In 2013, Browne produced the award-winning Calvin & Hobbes documentary, Dear Mr. Watterson (2013), a Kickstarter funded exploration of the legendary comic strip.

For two consecutive years, he has collaborated with The Weinstein Company on their Lexus Short Films campaign and is currently developing film and television projects with Sony Pictures and Universal.

Christopher Browne was raised in the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the inspiration for his upcoming feature length directorial debut, "The Sirs of Santa Cruz."
