Biography

Doug Richard is a Florida-based actor and screenwriter originally from Kansas. His first feature screenplay, The Choices We Make, began unexpectedly while he was traveling by RV on a remote two-lane highway. A character came to mind and stayed with him, gradually becoming the foundation for a story about second chances, relationships, self-discovery, and the choices that shape our lives.

With no formal film training, Richard found his way into independent filmmaking both in front of and behind the camera. He appeared in two seasons of Mayberry Man: The Series and has gained additional on-set experience working alongside independent filmmakers and performers.

The Choices We Make has received recognition as a semifinalist in the Wiki Screenplay Contest. Set largely in a fictional small Kansas town, the screenplay reflects Richard's Midwestern roots and his interest in ordinary people facing choices that can quietly change the course of their lives.

Richard's writing focuses on grounded characters, emotional honesty, relationships, and the small moments that often carry the greatest consequences.
