Biography

After a Master Degree in Private Law, and two years spent in Australia and South-East Asia, Lucas Sénécaut started to study Cinema and Production in Paris at CEFPF (Centre Européen de Formation à la Production de Films). He then completed his training in Montpellier, South of France, with a Master Degree in production, mentored by Mr Serge Lalou, Producer from Les Films d'Ici. Lucas then went to Cambodia at the Bophana Center for three years, close to Director/Producer Mr Rithy Panh. There he worked as a project manager on training and film education for young Cambodian generations and met talented directors like Polen Ly or Sok Chan Rado. He co-directed and co-produced in Cambodia his first documentary film called KHMERICA. For the past three years, Lucas worked in production on several projects. Within the company Les Films de l'Oeil sauvage, based in Paris, he assisted producer Mr Quentin Laurent and on multiple awarded films like DOWNSTREAM TO KINSHASA (Sélection officielle Festival de Cannes 2020), ASWANG (IDFA 2019), OVERSEAS (Locarno 2019) or LE KIOSQUE (Sheffield Doc Fest 2020). In 2021 he produced his first short fiction film called SOMLENG REATREY (Locarno 2021, Clermont-Ferrand 2021) and worked on the production of the feature documentary film THE TONGUE OF WATER. In 2022 he is working on the production of several projects, documentaries or fictions.
