Frank Edward Rosenfelt was born on November 15, 1921 in New York City, New York, USA. He was married to Judith Rosenfelt. He died on August 2, 2007 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Longtime executive at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio. Joined MGM in 1955 as a lawyer and became general counsel in 1969. Became studio head after MGM was purchased by Kirk Kerkorian in the 1970s.

One of the biggest disappointments of his career was when "Network" lost out to "Rocky" for the best-picture Academy Award. Reportedly, he was so angry that he forbade anyone in his home to even mention the name "Rocky".

As chairman of MGM Studios, he green-lighted "Dr. Zhivago" and "Network", among other classics. He became friends with legendary directors Stanley Kubrick and David Lean.
