Biography

Nevena Semova is an award-winning producer and director, graduate of the Kinoeyes Master's degree and founder of the production company Attic Films in Bulgaria. Her directorial debut "1000" premiered at PÖFF Shorts 2023, while her documentary short "Jar of Time" (2025) received a number of awards including Best Documentary Award (Oscar qualifying) at the In the Palace Short Film Festival, Best Debut and Best Cinematography at the National Film Academy awards, Golden Rhyton for Best Debut and Best Short Documentary at Mammoth Lakes Film Festival. As producer, Nevena's latest film "Unavailable" (Attic Films is a co-producer) had its world premiere at the Orizzonti competition at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, followed by a number of selections including Clermont Ferrand and Palm Springs. Nevena is an alumna of New Producer's Room (Cannes Film Festival 2023), Development Angels Programme (Less is More 2024), ProPro Producer’s Programme for Women (2025), ACE Training Days Poland (2025).
