Biography

Renata Jones is an award-winning director, screenwriter, and producer born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the founder and CEO of Jones Pictures. She is known for her work on We, Brothers (2025) and The Outsider (2026). Jones is recognized for her distinctive use of non-linear storytelling, crafting narratives that build tension, reveal hidden layers, and culminate in final twists.

'We, Brothers' had its theatrical pre-premiere in Rio de Janeiro in June 2025 and was nominated for Best International Short at the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival, where Jones received the award for Best Director. In 'The Outsider', influenced by Italian giallo and the cinematic language of Stanley Kubrick, she explores a darker, more atmospheric approach, marked by psychological tension, controlled visuals, and narrative ambiguity.

Her upcoming projects include Harriet, a psychological and supernatural feature thriller set in Rio de Janeiro in 1890, and Memórias, a short film told through the perspective of a ten-year-old boy who uses his camera to cope with the loss of his best friend.
