Scott Frederick is an independent filmmaker, writer, and director, and the founder of Vacant Plot Films, a production company focused on atmospheric horror, suspense, and character-driven genre storytelling. A retired U.S. Navy veteran with over 21 years of service, Frederick brings a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to filmmaking, blending practical effects, grounded performances, and cinematic tension to create immersive experiences for audiences.

With a strong passion for horror cinema and psychological thrillers, Frederick’s work often explores fear through intimate, everyday settings-where the familiar becomes unsettling. His projects draw inspiration from classic slasher films, supernatural folklore, and modern found-footage storytelling, while maintaining a strong visual identity rooted in suspense and realism.

He is the writer and director of Tanglewood Drive, a horror short inspired by paranormal investigation lore and the video game Phasmophobia, following a neighborhood haunted by demonic forces and the chilling aftermath left behind. He is also developing a high-concept horror-thriller centered around immersive horror entertainment.

Through Vacant Plot Films, Frederick continues to develop original genre projects with the goal of creating compelling independent horror films for platforms such as YouTube, Tubi, Amazon Prime, and beyond.
