Born in Griffin, Georgia, Masýa found his way to cinema through nearly a decade of lived experience behind the camera, where storytelling first sparked his heart. Beginning as a production assistant in unscripted television, he transitioned into narrative filmmaking on The Walking Dead, earning union membership through mentorship and immersion on set. His work has gravitated toward horror and psychological thrillers, including "The Exorcist" and "The Woman in the Yard." Drawn to "ALMOST" for its emotionally honest and deeply relatable writing, he chose the short film for his directorial debut - believing its story reflects the quiet pressures, ticking time, and shared human experiences that transcend identity.
