Aviona Rodriguez Brown

Aviona Rodriguez Brown (they/she) began their career as a child model for the Bon Marche (aka Macy's) and quickly found their love for performing through singing and by experiencing the exhilarating energy exchange with the audience. Brown's career grew as they began to focus primarily on musical theater productions both on and off stage. Select roles include Muzzy Van Hossmere (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Motormouth Maybelle (Hairspray), Sofia The Piano Player (Nilo Cruz's Two Sisters and a Piano).
With the creative itch to expand their horizons, Aviona now writes, directs, produces, and performs their own work. They instill inclusively and accessibility by telling stories surrounding multiracial identity, queerness, navigating mental illness, stress, family dynamics, drug addiction, and homelessness through multidisciplinary art forms. Brown's solo show, REVEAL- a solo show, has traveled and performed nationwide.
In addition to their creative pursuits, as an educator, Aviona aspires to transform the masses on various subjects, self-awareness and the health benefits of art alternatives through ongoing community-oriented youth projects. After an injury created physical limitations for Brown, they began to explore the world of film, production and even returned to their roots as a model. Most recently, Brown worked on a Stephen Soderbergh project, KIMI, and stars as Tamara in the series, Going Home (Dan Merchant) - be sure to catch her on screen! Other various projects are afoot for Aviona who is so eager to continue to explore this new creative world of film. This journey continues to be an exciting one!
