R.D. Smith(III)

Ronald "R. D." Smith is an award-winning screenwriter and producer whose work has earned recognition across the United States and internationally for its emotional depth, character-driven storytelling, and cinematic style. Based in Southern California and trained at UCLA's Feature Film Screenwriting Program, Smith brings a diverse real-world background to his craft, allowing him to develop grounded characters and compelling narrative worlds.

Smith has produced two acclaimed short films, Easter Bunny and Alabaster Muse, both of which have secured extensive festival success. Easter Bunny has won numerous awards, including Best Crime Short, Best Narrative Short, Best Produced Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Editor, and multiple trailer awards at festivals such as Top Shorts, Sweden Film Awards, Filmmakers Connect, SoCal Film Awards, New York Film Awards, and the Los Angeles Short Film Awards. Alabaster Muse has earned honors for Best Actor, Best Movie Poster, Best Original Music, Best Editor, and multiple finalist and semi-finalist placements at Cannes World Film Festival, Stockholm City Film Festival, Top Shorts Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Film & Documentary Awards.

As a writer, Smith's feature screenplay Tijuana Touchdown won the Grand Prix for Best Feature Screenplay at the Chicago Script Awards and earned multiple Best Screenplay titles from Festigious International Film Festival, Hollywood International Screenplay Awards, and others. His additional screenplays-including Bouquet Canyon, Alabaster Muse, Easter Bunny, and the TV pilot Locked Up: The Fish-have all received recognition as finalists, semi-finalists, or award winners across competitions such as ScreenCraft, ISA Fast Track, BlueCat, Scriptmatix Fellowship, and the Cannes Script Festival.
