Biography

Dan Burks is an award-winning writer, director, and producer, and an alumnus of USC's School of Cinematic Arts (2002). In 2004 he co-founded Om Films, Inc. which has produced over 20 films earning accolades such as an Academy Award nomination (TO KILL A TIGER), a BAFTA nomination (WILD SUMMON), a Grammy nomination and a PGA-winner BEATS, RHYMES, & LIFE: THE TRAVELS OF A TRIBE CALLED QUEST. As a producer, his features have premiered at Sundance (BEATS; WILD INDIAN), SXSW (SPACE STATION 76 ; THE BALLAD OF LEFTY BROWN), and Tribeca (STRAY DOLLS ; SUPER DARK TIMES). As a director, his latest short THE STRANGER won multiple awards on the festival circuit, including at HorrorHaus (Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Film) and Beverly Hills Film Festival (Audience Award for Best Short). Burks lives near the Pacific Ocean with his wife, daughters, and surfboards.
