Biography

Graham S Young was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in September 21, 2000. From a young age, he has always been a passionate storyteller. Graham loved storytelling but had a hard time writing down his ideas in useful ways. He would hand write the stories, but would never get them onto a digital format, which eventually led them to being left in a drawer. That was before discovering a career of filmmaking, which changed his life...

He is not ultimately sure what ignited the spark from writer to filmmaker; perhaps it was watching movies with his family, watching behind the scenes videos with his dad, or just a continuation of his dream to tell stories.

Graham was introduced to the world of filmmaking shortly after his 17th birthday. After being home schooled his whole life, he graduated early and was looking to go to a college. One day, he and his mother visited a small film university in Peoria, Arizona, and suddenly his dream became a reality. By Spring of 2019, Graham had started his first film class.

Graham entered film school at a disadvantage compared to everyone else. All of his peers had some sort of experience, whereas this was his first-time filmmaking. Graham's first real experience on a film set was shortly after he started his college journey, on Chris Blackford's short film "Steve," as a humble boom operator. And not long after, he directed a short film of his own - "Brothers."

Graham had found his purpose - To make films. He did everything he could from that point on to be on as many film and student productions as he could. He learned what he was good at, and he learned what he loved. His passion for filmmaking and desire to learn landed him a position on over fifty student and commercial film. He was able to learn his strengths and weakness better and discover what he truly loved to do. He quickly set himself up as a very capable PA, Grip, Sound Designer/Mixer, Camera Operator, and Editor. But his passion remained Directing and Producing.

Graham's more recent Directing works include "Jonah: The True Story" (Winner of Best Comedy at Valor Community Film Festival), "Loose Strings" (Made for IFB's 2022 Beat the Clock Challenge. Winner of Best Sound Design and Best Lead Actor for Michael Bundy II). His more recent Producing work include "Crimson" Directed by Cheyanne Glazier (currently in post-production), and "A Forest Dark" Directed by Casey Davis (currently in festivals).

Graham S Young is presently located in Peoria, Arizona, and is in active development/production on 5 additional short films as both a director and/or a producer.
