Biography

A Detroit native musician, producer, actor and artist Huck Johns started in Detroit Rock band Broken Toys throughout the 90's and relocated to Hollywood in 2000. Huck Johns co-wrote the song "I AM" on Kid Rock's self-titled 2003 album. Johns then collaborated throughout L.A. with members of groups like GNR, Alice Cooper, BuckCherry and Kidrock producing and writing material which led to 2006 when Huck recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood and released "HUCK" via Hideout / Capitol Records. Huck's single "Oh Yeah" became a moderate hit on middle America's mainstream rock radio and Huck continued touring as a solo act sharing stages with Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, Buckcherry and a few dozen more until 2008. Upon his return to L.A. he joined members of The hard rock band Buckcherry and created the group Black Robot. The band released its self titled debut in 2010 and found widespread recognition. Johns mostly collaborated with producer, writer, performer and multi Grammy winner Dave Cobb (Rival Sons, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton) in creating the music. Black Robot ended up featured in Classic Rock Magazine's best of 2010. The Song "Baddass" was picked #5 song of the year and listed by Classic Rock as #198 of the best Classic Rock Mags songs. The Band's cover of "Cocaine" hit radio for a while and Johns toured until 2012. Huck Johns has a list of producer credits and an extensive song catalog of various genres. Johns' music has been featured on sports Networks, in a few feature films and on numerous network television programs. Huck relocated to Nashville in 2021 and came back to L.A. in 2022 for an appearance in a feature film. Johns' production and art studio Johns is in Franklin TN. Huck is also a skilled Fine Artist of many mediums and attended OTIS school of Art and design in Los Angeles.
