  • Guido Freddi was born in Rome, Italy on 23 November 1965. Filmmaker and musician, he graduated "Summa cum Laude" in Anthropology at "La Sapienza" Universitiy of Rome. He served in the Italian Army as 2nd lieutenant assault platoon commander. He did field research and documentaries in French Polinesia, Turkey, Ecuador, Bukina Faso, India, Nepal, Libya... In 1996 Guido married writer director Ilaria Borrelli in Paris, France. He lived in NYC for 6 years with his wife Ilaria founding with her Capetoste production company and composing his first feature film score for a full orchestra. In NY he had his own jazz trio from 2000 to 2003. His life has been marked by three dramatic events: He's been kidnapped at age 13 by one of the bloodiest Italian criminal organizations, living under death threat for 28 days. He saw his father slowly die for a surgical mistake without being able to fight back. He was in downtown Manhattan in the morning of the 9th of September 2001. Guido is a proud descendant, on his mother (Mariana Poswick) side, of Belgian freedom fighters who died in Buchenwald after being tortured by Gestapo. Guido is also a passionate mountaineer and sailor and has a deep interest in ancient Greek philosophy and Buddhism. He is the proud father of 2 beautiful children.
