Jean-Claude is a highly experienced, award-winning Production VFX Supervisor and co-founder of independent visual effects studio Milk.
Since its launch in 2013, Milk has created a range of innovative and complex sequences for high-end television and feature films, winning an Oscar for feature film Ex-Machina; an Emmy for BBC/Hartswood's Sherlock (2016); three consecutive BAFTA Television Craft Awards, for the BBC's Doctor Who (2014, 2015) and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell (2016), plus eight further BAFTA Craft nominations.
Jean-Claude is the VFX Supervisor on the ambitious new eight-part NBC series, Surviving Earth. He was also the VFX Supervisor for BBC/Amazon's Good Omens (Seasons 1, 2 & 3), which earned Milk a 2020 BAFTA Television Craft Award nomination. He completed production as VFX Supervisor on Sky Original drama, eight-part sci-fi series Intergalactic, delivering 850 shots during an intensive remote production schedule.
As Milk's VFX Supervisor on Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Jean-Claude led the team to win a 2016 BAFTA Television Craft Award in addition to VES Award and RTS Craft Award nominations. He also led the team that won a 2016 Creative Arts Emmy Award for Sherlock: 'The Abominable Bride'. Jean-Claude's VFX Supervisor credits at Milk also include Hartswood Films/Netflix's Dracula; three television series of Sherlock; ITV's Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands; and David Attenborough's Natural History Museum Alive 3D and Dinosaurs in The Wild, a special immersive UK theatrical event, which saw Milk create large-scale CG dinosaurs and environments, and render 78 million 6k stereoscopic frames of complex animation in the Cloud in 10 weeks.
Prior to the launch of Milk in June 2013, Jean-Claude was Joint Head of 3D/Animation Supervisor and VFX Supervisor for Mill TV & Film for 10 years. His extensive feature film experience includes Alexander, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, Alien vs. Predator and 28 Weeks Later.
Jean-Claude's television credits at Mill TV & Film include BAFTA, RTS Craft and VES Award winning work on Doctor Who, as well as Merlin, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Torchwood and ITV's Primeval, for which he was VFX Supervisor. His career began as a Runner at Soho 601 before moving to The Hive to become a Character Animator and later joining The Moving Picture Company.
