Biography

Agume Mark is an African actor based in Uganda, recognized for his commanding screen presence and versatility across film, television, theatre, and commercial work. He has built a reputation for delivering grounded and emotionally charged performances.

His screen credits include leading and supporting roles in acclaimed short films such as Boundary Mwisho and The Last Shoemaker, winner of the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA) for Best Short Film. He has also appeared in popular television series including Damalie, Sanyu, The Wrong Bride, and Ties That Bind Us. Agume is widely recognized for his role in the feature film Ssekukkulu, ' The Ugandan Christmas ', a performance that further expanded his visibility among audiences in Uganda and across the region.

Beyond narrative work, his versatility extends to commercial modeling, with notable campaigns such as Pepsi Max, reflecting his strong on-camera appeal and brand presence.

Agume trained professionally in Acting, Voice, and Movement at Yenze Theatre Conservatoire in Uganda. He also holds a Certificate in Acting from the Actor Spaces Academy, South Africa, and is certified in Film Production, earned through an advanced masterclass with Chris Odeh in Lagos, Nigeria. In 2024, he represented Uganda as the country's sole finalist at the Africa Monologue Challenge, marking a significant international milestone in his career.

Committed to expanding the scope of African storytelling, Agume also plays an active role behind the scenes. He hosted Uganda’s first film stunt workshop, bringing in professional Kenyan stunt performers to support skills transfer and industry growth.

In 2024, he received the Best Actor in a Lead Role award at The Pearl International Film Festival, recognizing both his craft and his rising influence within the region’s film industry.
