Biography

Marina Ortega Mira's professional journey includes collaborations with some of the industry's leading names. Her credits in the music department include 20th Century and Scott Free's Boston Strangler, Netflix's Chaos and Dynasty, Focus Features' Last Breath, CBS's Watson, and Amazon Prime's KSI: In Real Life. She has also collaborated as a composer with Paul Feig's Powderkeg Media and Hans Zimmer's Bleeding Fingers Music collective. Marina has been mentored by composer Paul Leonard-Morgan (Cyberpunk 2077, Fellow Travelers). Marina is also the composer of The Trail of the Wolf which screened at the Marché du Film in Cannes in 2026.

Living with a condition that heightens sensitivity to sound, Marina has transformed this unique trait into creative strength. Her sonic world is unmistakably personal - defying tradition yet rooted in the classics. Her signature lies in blending song form and score, as she is both a composer and a singer-lyricist. Her works often unfold as long-form songs in which instrumentals and vocals intertwine to create a unified thematic narrative. In her recordings, she layers voice with instruments of all kinds - acoustic, electronic, and self-built - to craft textured soundscapes that feel both intimate and vast.

Her concert works have been performed on stages such as the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros., and the Palau de la Música and L'Auditori in Barcelona. An award-winning composer and producer, she received the 2020 Fulbright Award, the 2021 Barcelona Sound Creation Fellowship, and the 2022 ASCAP Harold Arlen Film & TV Award.
