Alan Vidot is an internationally award winning Australian Director of Photography/ Cinematographer, Director and Filmmaker based in Melbourne, Australia.
Known for his cinematic visual style and story driven approach, Alan specialises in atmospheric lighting and visually rich storytelling across narrative films, commercials, music videos and branded content. Drawing on more than two decades of experience in professional photography and audio production, he combines technical precision with a strong understanding of visual narrative, bringing projects from concept through to final delivery.
Alan made his directorial debut with the psychological thriller Two Shots, which has received international recognition on the film festival circuit. The film has earned multiple Best Cinematography awards, additional craft awards, Honourable Mentions, finalist placements and Official Selections at international film festivals, recognising both Alan's cinematography and his work as a filmmaker.
Alongside his work as a Director of Photography, Alan also works as a Gaffer, Colourist, Camera Operator, Sound Designer and licensed Drone Director of Photography, enabling him to contribute across every stage of production and post production. His collaborative approach focuses on supporting directors' creative vision while crafting images that enhance story, emotion and performance.
Alan also served as Aerial Director of Photography on Blvck Gold, which screened at the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), St Kilda Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival and other international festivals. He continues to collaborate on independent films and commercial productions while developing original narrative projects.
