Melissa is a writer/director known for the short films Leftovers and Marginalia. She founded the LA Shorts Collective in 2021, a group of 50 Los Angeles based filmmakers who produce short films under the shingle LAShorts. She won the Austin Film Festival Drama Teleplay award and the Nate Wilson Joie de Vivre Award. Turkington is a contributor at Pipeline Artists.
