- Philip Bury, lead singer of the rockabilly band "Buck Naked and the Bare Bottom Boys" was shot to death in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco in 1992 after a confrontation with a pigeon lover, Michael Kagan, a man also known around the neighborhood as 'The Pigeon Man'. Bury was shot as he walked his dog. According to homicide inspector Earl Sanders, Bury's dog chased the birds 'the Pigeon Man' was feeding, and the guy flipped out and opened fire. 'The Pigeon Man' was subsequently tried and convicted to a prison term for his murder.
