- Brazilian singer and lyricist who was married to guitarist and composer Luiz Bonfá from 1962 to 1976. With Bonfá and Stan Getz, she recorded "Jazz Samba Encore!" for the Verve label, and the album remained for 11 weeks in the Billboard pop charts. Actually, she was the first Brazilian singer to record with Stan Getz. Later on, Toledo released an acclaimed solo album, "Maria Toledo Sings The Best of Luiz Bonfá," for United Artists, and reunited with Bonfá for the "Braziliana" album. She also collaborated with Bobby Scott, Astrud Gilberto and many other artists. Several of her songs were included on movie soundtracks. She died in Rio de Janeiro on February 3, 2010.
