Jubilian Ngaruwa is a documentary filmmaker and video archivist. Jubilian Ngaruwa uses film as a medium of self discovery and understanding the world around her. Her films and collections are focused on understanding ways knowledge is produced as people and communities evolve and human conditions change overtime. Her first documentary film Afterlife tells the story of coexistence between colonial religions and traditional practices. It dissects the impact of colonialism on the contemporary Nigerian person, following priests, priestesses and devotees of pre colonial Nigerian spirituality, these are people who hold on to their belief Inspite of demonization. This film helps every curious African to answer questions as to what they know and how they know it. Her second film Ancestry reveals the contribution of local Ancestral systems to environmental conservation in two communities in Nigeria the Idemili and Osogbo.
