Lizette Castro is a first-generation Salavadorian American filmmaker raised and based in Los Angeles. Coupled video journalism roots, Lizette had their start in film as a student of the Latino Film Institute's film program, the Youth Cinema Project. She holds a B.A. in Television, Film and Media Production with a minor in Entertainment Marketing from California State University, Los Angeles in addition to completing Venice Arts' Digital Storytelling Fellowship. Working on an assortment of projects as an assistant director, from short films to visual essays and music videos. Some of their featured works have been screened/awarded at various festivals such as: Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF), GuadaLAjara Film Festival, AFI Fest, Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), and more! Lizette strives to be a face of representation for Salvadorian/ Central American filmmakers and creatives in the entertainment world, to show there is space for them no matter where they come from.
