Sharon Pulwer

Sharon Pulwer is a cinematographer and photojournalist, known for Some Kind of Paradise (2023) and The Bullfighter (2023) that granted her a nomination at the 2023 EnergaCAMERIMAGE cinematography festival.
Pulwer graduated in 2023 from the cinematography program at The American Film Institute. Prior to that she worked as a camera operator for Bader media clients including "Hennessy", "Sky Princess Cruises, "Karma Revero" and "Toyota". She was the director of photography of the short film "A Girl Called Johnny", that was featured by the clothing brand Versace.
Her photojournalism work that focused on religion, conflict and women rights was published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Rolling Stone, Refinery29 and others. In 2020 she was one of the six finalists in the Leica Oscar Barnack Award in the newcomer category for her documentary project "God-Fearing Women" that followed the lives of Jewish ultra-orthodox women in Brooklyn. Pulwer began the project in 2018 while attending The Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism program at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York. She is based in Los Angeles and originally from Tel Aviv.
